Unit 3: Barre Chords

Students will understand how barre chord shapes function across the guitar fretboard and how movable chord patterns increase musical flexibility. Students will understand how hand strength, finger positioning, and efficient movement support successful barre chord performance.

Students will perform major and minor barre chord shapes, apply movable chord patterns across the fretboard, compare multiple chord voicings, and perform chord progressions using barre chords. Students will also select and perform a song of their choice using online chord charts and guitar resources.

Students demonstrate learning through barre chord performance quizzes, chord progression playing tests, song performance assessments, and independent practice demonstrations.
