Unit 1: EXPANDING TECHNIQUE

Students will understand how expanded chord vocabulary, rhythmic fluency, fingerstyle technique, and efficient practice strategies support intermediate guitar performance. Students will understand how stylistic choices and chord variations contribute to musical expression and accompaniment.

Students will review and refine Guitar I skills while learning new chord voicings, fingerstyle patterns, rhythmic concepts, and rehearsal techniques. Students will perform increasingly fluent chord progressions and create original progressions using varied accompaniment styles.

Students demonstrate learning through chord fluency checks, rhythm exercises, fingerstyle playing assessments, accompaniment performances, and an original chord progression performance project.
