Unit 4: Introduction to Tablature

Students will understand how tablature communicates musical information for guitar performance. Students will understand how tablature, rhythm, and chord accompaniment work together to support independent music learning and collaborative performance.

Students will read and perform guitar tablature, apply rhythmic accuracy while reading tab, combine melody and accompaniment skills, and collaborate in duet performance settings. Students will also rehearse and perform a partner duet using melody and chord accompaniment.

Students demonstrate learning through tablature reading exercises, rhythm and melody playing assessments, duet rehearsals, and partner performance projects.
