Lesson Objective

Students will perform a song of their choice using the G, D, C and Em chords in any order.

Students will perform their song with a steady beat, at the song's original tempo, and with a quarter or quarter/8th strumming pattern.

The list of song options that I will provide includes multiple learning tools for each song. There is a chord/lyric chart (if students are literate enough in chord charts for this) and individual YouTube tutorials (if they need more direct support) for each listed song. Additionally, if students want to choose a song that is not on the list that fulfills the chord vocabulary requirements, they may do so.

  Students will perform their selection for the class, and be graded for accuracy of chords (shapes), rhythm (strumming pattern) and chord transitions. 

Videos of student performances will be uploaded to their portfolios as artifacts of their performance ability.
