Teacher selects an excerpt; students focus on producing a consistent tone and correct articulations while performing in sectionals.
Students may focus on notes only and neglect tone or dynamics.
One-on-one coaching for tone, sectional practice for weaker instruments.
Sectional or full-band performance evaluated with rubric (tone, dynamics, articulation).
