Unit 1: COURSE DESCRIPTION

Concert Choir 8 is a continuing class for students who enjoy singing and want to improve their vocal skills. In this course, students will continue to build on proper singing techniques such as breathing, posture, tone, and pitch.

Students will perform a variety of music, including different styles and cultures. The class also reinforces music reading and listening skills. Students in this course will practice singing as a group and develop skills in harmony, rhythm, and musical expression.

Students will demonstrate their learning during class where they will practice proper vocal technique, music reading, and ensemble singing. Students will show progress by participating in class activities such as singing in small groups and completing short vocal assessments. Students will also demonstrate their learning through performances at school concerts and community events. Additionally, they may complete written or listening activities that show their understanding of musical terms and concepts.
