Lesson Objective

Students will review and strengthen their ability to quickly recognize notes on the treble or bass clef staff and connect them to correct fingerings.

Students review notes on the staff and practice identifying them more quickly. The teacher introduces additional notes that may extend slightly beyond the basic range. Students practice identifying and performing these notes on their instruments.

Confusing notes above or below the staff
Relying on memorized fingerings rather than reading the notation
Slowing down when identifying unfamiliar notes
