Students will recognize notes on the treble or bass clef staff and explain how those notes translate to pitches on their instruments

Students review the structure of the staff and practice naming notes in treble or bass clef. The teacher models how written notes correspond to instrument fingerings. Students then practice identifying and performing individual notes.
