Lesson Objective

Students will construct explanations based on evidence for how light energy is used to make sugars from carbon dioxide and water through the process of photosynthesis. They will understand that in organisms, food moves through a series of chemical reactions and the molecules are rearranged to support growth or release energy.

How do plants and animals obtain and process energy?

Photosynthesis
Ecosystem
Cellular Respiration
Glycolysis
