* Does any of the descriptive language in the text compare two seemingly unlike things?
* Do any descriptions include “like” or “as” that indicate a simile?
* Is there a direct comparison that suggests a metaphor?
* How does the use of this figure of speech change your understanding of the thing or person being described?
