Students rotate between different percussion instruments and practice basic playing techniques. The focus is on proper striking areas, stick or mallet control, and producing a clear sound.

Students may strike instruments too hard or in the wrong area.

Students may assume all percussion instruments are played the same way.

Provide guided demonstrations before students try instruments.

Allow students extra practice time with instruments they find challenging.
