Unit 1: COURSE DESCRIPTION

Choir Accelerated 6 is for students who have some previous singing experience and want to develop their vocal and musical skills further. Students will focus on strengthening vocal technique, including breath control, tone quality, pitch accuracy, and singing independently within a group.

The class will explore more choral music in a variety of styles and cultures, while building music reading skills and learning to sing in harmony. This class emphasizes growth, confidence, and a deeper appreciation for choral music.

Students will demonstrate their learning through active participation in rehearsals, accurate singing of assigned parts, and application of emerging vocal techniques. They may also complete sight-reading and music theory activities to show understanding of musical concepts. The primary demonstration of learning will be through performances at school concerts and community events, as well as through consistent effort, improvement, and teamwork within the choir.
