Students will learn proper instrument handling and setup procedures through teacher modeling and guided practice. The teacher demonstrates safe instrument removal from the case, correct posture, and how to hold the cello/bass/viola. Students mirror the teacher and practice holding their instruments in playing position.
Students may believe posture only affects comfort rather than sound.
Students may grip the instrument tightly with the left hand.
Students may assume instruments are durable and do not require careful handling.
Visual demonstrations and posture charts.
Peer modeling for students needing additional support.
Physical cues (tape markers or posture reminders).
Allow struggling students to practice posture without the bow first.
