- How can you use the inverse operation to solve for the variable and balance the equation?

Show students equations with a box in place of the variable and ask what value goes in the box to make the equation true. Then transition to using a variable, showing that we can isolate the variable using the inverse operation. Practice solving equations using the inverse operation. DOK 1
