Using various ratio (function) tables, students will find the proportional relationship from the x (input) and the y (output). This will then lead to the discussion of independent and dependent variables. DOK 1-2
- Provide rules: Give students the explicit function rule alongside the table to scaffold the process of calculating unknown inputs or outputs.
- Partial Completion: Provide tables with several input-output pairs already solved, allowing students to "look for and make use of structure" to identify the pattern before attempting independent calculations.
