Lesson Objective

After rereading and discussing a model of close reading, students will be able to identify the point of view in a text, analyze how the author develops the point of view, and determine the author’s purpose in writing from that point of view.

Think about the last story you read outside of class. From what point of view was the story told?

Do you think the story could have been told as effectively from another point of view? Why or why not?
