Lesson Objective
After rereading and discussing a model of close reading, students will be able to analyze how a particular stanza fits into the overall structure of a text and contributes to the development of theme.
1. What is a poem or song you know that has a strong rhythm? How do you feel when you either hear it or read it aloud?
2. Do you prefer a poem with a rhyme scheme or a free-verse poem? Why?
