After reading and discussing a model of close reading, students will be able to provide a summary of the text free of personal opinions or judgments.
How would you tell a friend about a book, movie, or television program you liked? Do you tell everything that happened or just the most important parts? Do you tell what happened in order?
Do you think you would be able to describe the meaning of what you read or watched? Why or why not?
Why is it important to summarize in a way that maintains meaning and logical order?
