StudySync instructs students on a variety of writing forms that adhere to the state curriculum
standards. Each unit of the program exposes students to a different writing form and all of its
associated skills and processes, which they practice through unit-specific Extended Writing
Projects (EWP)
breaking down the writing process into manageable steps providing visual aids

offering choices in topic and format

To reach this target students will:
- write in first-person point of view.
- include story elements (characters, setting, problem, resolution, and theme).
- show, not tell, using action, dialogue, imagery, and precise language.
- write a story opening that begins with action, dialogue, thought, question, or sound.
- organize the events of the story in chronological order, and use transitions to pace the story.
- close with a statement that directly gives the essay’s main point.
