After reading and discussing a model of close reading, students will be able to analyze how the characters' reactions and changes contribute to the plot.
What are some qualities of your favorite characters from books, TV, or movies? In what ways did these characters change?
In a book, would you rather read about the actions a character takes in a story, or about what the character thinks and feels? Why?
