Hydrodynamics & Physics: How center of gravity and buoyancy affect board stability (Standard 2).

Safety & Rescue Protocols: The "Reach, Throw, Row, Go" progression and the importance of Inhibitory Control (resisting the urge to jump in after a victim without a flotation device)

Self-Monitoring: Students will use a "stability check" to constantly adjust their stance on the SUP/Surfboard, checking their own form against the teacher's model.

Task Initiation: Efficiently managing materials (getting boards out of storage, checking leashes) to begin the "Authentic Challenge" within the allocated time frame.

Emotional Regulation: Practicing staying calm while submerged or during a "Water Rescue" simulation where a peer is acting as a distressed victim.

Productive Struggle: Navigating the difficulty of standing on a board for the first time, using teacher encouragement to persevere rather than giving up (Standard 5).

A "Rescue Relay" where students must paddle out on a SUP, perform a "Board Rescue" of a teammate, and return to the "shore" (pool edge) safely.

Skill Check for launching a board, prone paddle, knee paddle, and pop up.
