Lesson Objective

Students will demonstrate throwing and catching a football using specified pass routes.

1. What are the basic pass routes that most football teams utilize?
2. How can the offense change the pass route so the defense is always in the wrong position?

Students will be able to identify basic routes thus have a greater understanding of what is happening in high school, college, and NFL football games.

The students will be able to pick partners that match their skill level.
A variety of different sized footballs will be made available.

Students will be observed while performing the skills required.

Students will be assessed using a skills rubric.
