Lesson Objective

Students will demonstrate how to shoot the soccer ball using the
critical elements.

Identify which shot should be used based on your position on the field.
How can you improve your shooting ability and success rate?

Critical Elements:
Step to the ball (plant foot)
Swing your kicking leg
Full contact on the ball with the instep
Follow through for power

DOK Level 4: Students will prove they can shoot the soccer ball by demonstrating the shot with proper technique.

Soccer is the played world wide and is quickly increasing in popularity amongst students in Meriden.
Travel Soccer, School Teams, Recreational Leagues

Kicking with the point of your sneaker (toes) will make it a better shot.

Different distances to the soccer goal.
Different levels of inflation on the soccer balls.

Check for understanding using the guiding questions and teacher observation of appropriate skill demonstration.
