SWBAT analyze images that are presented in media and online that are edited, filtered or fake and explain how they can be harmful to those whom are consuming the images.
Why are online companies and the media presenting edited images and what is the effect that this has on teens?
How can consuming these images be harmful?

Purpose: To understand the differences between enhance and altered images and those that are unfiltered. To understand the harmful effects that the presentation of altered images can have on a persons self reflection of body image.

Students will view the making of a "Dove" commercial shooting and analyze the changes made to the model and ht eimpacts it may have on individuals.
Students will brainstorm the harmful efects filters and photo editing can have on themselves and others
Students will analyze teh "Real Life Barbie fact vs Fiction" chart and information and explain how and why the image of Barbie is not realistic.
