- Description: This lesson uses The Feedback Sandwich model. Students will observe role-plays where a manager gives a "correction" (ex. "You missed a spot while mopping" or "The bags are too heavy"). Students practice the Listen-Breathe-Respond technique, focusing on neutral body language and the phrase: "Thank you for the feedback, how can I do it better?"
- Purpose: To prevent impulsive quitting. Many students "walk off the job" when they feel criticized. This lesson provides the emotional and verbal tools to stay on the clock and improve.
- DOK Level: 3

- Support: Provide a Safe Response Menu—a visual list of 3–5 pre-written phrases students can say when they feel "shut down" (ex. "I appreciate you showing me that," "Can you watch me do it once to make sure I have it?").
- Visual: Use the Feedback Sandwich diagram to show how a good manager gives a correction (Positive ? Correction ? Positive).
- Role-Play Scaffolding: Start with Puppet or Action Figure role-plays for students with high social anxiety before moving to peer-to-peer or teacher-student interaction.
- Graphic Organizer: A thoughts vs. words T-chart where students write what they want to say (unprofessional) vs. what they should say (professional).

  • - The "Heat of the Moment" Check: The teacher gives the student tough feedback on a simple classroom task (like organizing a bin). The student is graded on their physical reaction (no eye-rolling/sighing) and their verbal response.
    - Reflection Journal: Students write about a time they were corrected in the past and re-write the ending using their new professional phrases.
