Description: Students write a 3-sentence script: (1) Who I am, (2) What I’m good at, (3) What I want to do.
Purpose: To give students a social safety net. By memorizing a scripted introduction, students avoid the blank mind phenomenon when first meeting an employer. It builds immediate confidence through a pre-planned success.
DOK Level: 2
-Support: Provide a fill-in-the-blank script where students only need to add their specific name and one skill.
-Visual: Use a stopwatch visual to help students understand the pacing of 30 seconds.
-Tech: Allow students to record their pitch privately using an app like Flip (formerly Flipgrid) if they have high anxiety speaking in front of the class.
