Unit 4: CNC Machining, CAD, & CAM
Duration of Days: 25
The workflow from 2D/3D design (CAD) to toolpath generation (CAM) to machine code (G-Code).
Coordinate geometry within the XYZ plane of a CNC Mill.
Speeds and feeds for machining aluminum and composites.
Design a custom vehicle component (e.g., a motor mount or steering wheel) in CAD software.
Set up and "zero" a CNC machine.
Machine the designed part from raw stock.
The Machined Artifact: A functional, precision-machined part that meets a ±.005" tolerance specification for the vehicle.
