Lesson 4: Car Running Board Assembly

Lesson Objective
Students will assemble the frame of their car using spring clamps. They will create the frame to an appropriate length for their car.
Students will measure, mark and drill for the axels as well as the dowels.
How long do you need your frame to be?
What size hole should be used to hold the dowels tight in the middle of the frame?
What size drill bit should be used for the axel holes?
WM.03.14 Select appropriate tools, procedures, and/or equipment.

WM.03.16 Demonstrate good housekeeping at a workstation within total laboratory.
WM.04 Explain and be able to demonstrate the methods involved in turning raw materials into useable products.
Create an appropriate running board suitable for production on the variety of tools within the woodshop.
Students will be able to create a design that aligns to their own personal ability and comfort level.
Students will have a running board that will show the ability of the projects completion.
