Woodworking Technology 2 is the second course in the series to provide opportunities to increase their understanding in traditional woodworking techniques and modern machinery. Safety, advanced power tools and stationary machinery are taught and reinforced continually throughout the course sequence. Upon completion of this course, students will demonstrate the application of safety practices, the ability to identify and use hand tools appropriately, the use of basic operations on stationary equipment and the ability to identify common fasteners and construction materials. Emphasis will be placed on enhancing the student?s knowledge and use of machine tools to produce finished products from a variety of wood species with quality of workmanship and effective use of time and resources.
