Woodworking Technology 1 is the first course in the series to provide opportunities for understanding the tools, materials, and processes used within the woodworking industry. A variety of products will be produced using traditional woodworking techniques and modern machinery that will be made from different species of raw materials. Students will develop mechanical skills that will prove valuable to the student both in vocational choice and leisure activity. Students will learn about quality, efficiency, and cost effectiveness so that they will be informed consumers. Instructional units will include the design, planning, documentation, and finishing processes. Project work will be the vehicle for instruction.
