Lesson 1: 3D Mindset (Plate 1-1 & 1-2)
Duration of Days: 3.5
Lesson Objective
Students will configure the AutoCAD isometric environment and use the F5 toggle to draw a base isometric block.
How does the crosshair change when switching from Orthographic to Isometric?
Why can't we use standard "Rectangle" or "Circle" commands in this mode?
Isoplane (Top, Left, Right), Axis, Snapstyle, F5 Toggle.
CT CADD.04.04: Create 2D isometric drawings using isocircles and isoplanes.
Students will set SNAPSTYLE to 1. They will practice drawing lines along the $30^\circ, 90^\circ, \text{ and } axes. Using Plate 1-1 and 1-2, they will construct the "bounding box" for their first 3D pictorial.
Purpose: To master the navigation of the three primary isometric planes.
DOK Level: 2.
Provide "Iso-Grid" overlays on the screen to help students visualize the lines.
