Lesson 1: Introduction to Advanced Tangency (Plate 2-1)

Lesson Objective
Students will use Object Snap Overrides to create lines that are perfectly tangent to two circles.
Why is a "Tangent" snap different from a "Quadrant" snap?
What happens to a mechanical belt or chain if the line isn't perfectly tangent?

Moving into Plate 2-1, students learn to "Shift + Right Click" to access the TANGENT snap override. They will connect circles of different sizes with smooth, non-intersecting lines.
Purpose: To master one of the most critical skills in mechanical design.
DOK Level: 2.
Use "Contrast Colors" for the circles and the tangent lines to clearly see the point of contact.
