Lesson Objective

Students will synthesize Offset, Trim, and Fillet commands to create a complex mechanical profile.

In what order should you apply modify tools to minimize "re-work"?

How do center marks help keep a drawing organized as it becomes more complex?

Workflow, Precision, Center Mark, Radius.

CT CADD.06.01: Demonstrate the use of editing and modify commands.

Students tackle Plate 1-7, which combines multiple skills. They must use OFFSET to establish the skeleton of the part, then FILLET and TRIM to define the final shape.

Purpose: To develop an efficient "drafting logic" or order of operations.

DOK Level: 3.

Provide a "Step-by-Step" logic checklist (1. Offset centers, 2. Draw circles, 3. Trim, 4. Fillet).

Plate 1-7 check: verifying all interior corners match the specified radii.
