Lesson 7: Mastering the Polar Array
Duration of Days: 2
Lesson Objective
Students will utilize the Polar Array tool to create repetitive circular features around a center point with mathematical precision.
How does an Array improve accuracy compared to drawing each circle individually?
What happens to the "Associative" property if you need to delete just one item in the pattern?
Polar Array, Center Point, Items, Fill Angle, Associative.
CT CADD.06.02: Perform advanced editing (Array).
Using Plate 1-6, students will draw a central hub and use the ARRAY command to distribute bolt holes or gear teeth perfectly. They will explore the "Items" and "Between" settings in the Array Ribbon.
Purpose: To master repetitive geometric distribution.
DOK Level: 2.
Provide a "Degrees of a Circle" reference chart to help students calculate fill angles.
Successful completion of Plate 1-6 where all arrayed items are perfectly centered and spaced.
