Students will create a Full Section view to clarify complex internal geometry.
When do hidden lines become too confusing to read?

Students imagine "sawing" an object in half along a cutting plane to reveal the interior as solid object lines

Purpose: To simplify complex drawings for manufacturing.

Use a "cut-away" physical model (like a sliced engine piston or a fruit) to show the concept.
Convert a standard orthographic with many hidden lines into a Full Section view.
Sectional view reference charts (ANSI hatch patterns).
