DVP.04 Production: Identify and describe the elements of production to effectively deliver a message.

The Key: Search for Ultra Key in the Effects panel. Use the Key Color eyedropper to select the green background.
Matte Cleanup: Adjust Pedestal and Transparency in the Effect Controls to remove "noise" or shadows from the background.
Masking: Use the Pen Tool under "Opacity" in the Effect Controls to draw a Garbage Mask around your subject, cutting out studio lights or microphone stands that were in the shot.

Students have a choice of what videos to edit.

The "Digital Travel" Task
  1. Film: Record 15 seconds of a student "reporting" from a different country.
  2. Layer: Place the new background on V1 and the green screen footage on V2.
  3. Key: Apply Ultra Key and clean the matte using the Alpha Channel view.
  4. Polish: Apply a Lumetri Color grade to the subject so their colors match the lighting of the background image.
