Lesson Objective
Students will learn the "5 Essential Elements" of a script and write a 1-page scene using industry-standard formatting.

The Golden Rule, Font, monospaced, The 5 W's- Who, what, When, Where and Why?
Content Standard 1.0 (Pre-production): Students will demonstrate the ability to create an effective script following industry-standard formats.
To practice, have students "reverse-engineer" a famous scene.
Watch a 2-minute clip from a popular movie (e.g., Spider-Man or Mean Girls).
Have students write the script for that scene based only on what they see and hear.

Is your action in the present tense?
Are character names capitalized
Everyone writes their own script and chooses how long.
Each student will write several completed scripts that will be graded with a rubric on Script writing.
