Lesson Objective

Students will be able to design a multisubject/ Multisensory field trip for preschoolers.

If you could take preschoolers anywhere for a field trip, where would you go and why?

What learning objectives can be met at this location?

What activities can you plan that would engage preschoolers?

What safety precautions need to be taken into account?

Real-world learning: Children connect classroom concepts to concrete experiences (e.g., seeing animals at a farm after a unit on life cycles).

Multisensory engagement: New sights, sounds, smells and textures deepen learning and memory.

Language development: New vocabulary and conversation opportunities arise naturally.

Social skills practice: Turn-taking, listening to adults, following directions, and cooperative behavior are practiced in a new setting.

Science & observation: Kids learn to notice, ask questions, and make simple observations about the world.

Motivation & curiosity: A change of environment sparks wonder and motivates further classroom exploration.

Community connection: Children learn about local places, people, and roles (library, fire station, farm, museum).
