Students will be able to identify and explain different types of hunger, analyze the effects of hunger on individuals and populations, and evaluate the causes of food shortages.

What is the impact of hunger on individuals and populations?
What are the factors contributing to food shortages?
Is there a relationship between poverty, conflict, and food insecurity?

Many students would go hungry without lunch and breakfast provided by the government.
Students do not have an understanding the complexities of hunger beyond just physical hunger.
Student will work in groups to provide support to each other. Students can choose how to document their learning.
Students will create a presentation about a real-world scenario illustrating the types of hunger, effects of hunger, and causes of food shortages discussed in class. The presentation should demonstrate a deep understanding of the topic.
