Unit 1: Understanding Entrepreneurship

How to define entrepreneurship and identify the key elements of an enterpreneurial mindset, such as risk-taking, creativity and problem solving and how entrepreneurship impacts the economy.

-Define entrepreneurship and explain its importance and the importance in the business world.
-Identify SMART Goals and understand their importance
-Compare and contrast the roles and characteristics of an entrepreneur and a worker
-Compare and contrast the mindset of a worker, an entrepreneur to their current mindset
-Analyze the impact of entrepreneurship on the economy (needs vs wants), including job creation and innovation
-Evaluate real-life examples of successful entrepreneurs and their contributions to the economy
-Research young entrepreneurs and what they have contributed and the types of entrepreneurship
--Create a vision board (Design my Destiny)-The purpose of this is to get the student to really think about what they would like to accomplish in their life yar both academically and personally

• Taking notes during class discussions
• Do now/exit tickets 
• Compare and contrast assignments
• Case study analysis on real-life entrepreneurial challenges
• Creating research based investigation on young entrepreneurs and how they have created their businesses
• Create: Vision board (Design My Destiny)-where do they see themselves in terms of high school and beyond. Is it college, trade school, or  military
• Analyze and Create: Students will explore the entrepreneurial world by analyzing Shark Tank pitches, understanding the factors that lead to successful investments or failures, and applying these insights to create and their own business ideas.
