Learn the forms of -are verbs. Then practice using the verbs to say what people do.
DOK 1: Use a rhythmic chant for the endings (-o, -i, -a, -iamo, -ate, -ano). The teacher provides a root (e.g., parl-), and students must shout the correct ending for a given pronoun.
DOK 2: Students receive a sentence in the io form (Io studio molto) and must "shift" it to the noi or loro form.
DOK 3: Students use five different -are verbs to plan a productive Saturday (e.g., studiare, lavorare, cucinare).
DOK 4: students create a series of "posts" or a video script in Italian describing a school event. They must use a variety of -are verbs to explain what students, teachers, and parents are doing.
