Connections / Culture / Comparison
Students will be discovering impactful figures in the target culture and making comparisons to the popular figures in their own culture.
DOK 1: The teacher describes a person in the target language (e.g., "È alto, ha i capelli neri e porta gli occhiali"). Students must listen and sketch the person based only on the auditory input.
DOK 2: Students are given a description (e.g., "John e basso") and must "shift" it to the exact opposite ("John e alto").
DOK 3: One student describes a "suspect" (a famous celebrity) without saying their name. The partner must draw them and then guess the identity.
DOK 4: Students choose a historical figure from an Italian-speaking country. They must investigate their life and write a "Professional Bio" that describes their character traits and how those traits led to their success.
