Description
This section introduces the vocabulary of the "Information Age." It covers the traditional press (newspapers, magazines), broadcast media (radio, television), and the digital landscape (social media, the internet, and blogs). Students learn to categorize types of information and describe the people involved in creating media, such as reporters, editors, and influencers.

Purpose
The purpose of this section is to transition students from casual conversation to critical consumption of information. It aims to:
Provide the lexicon necessary for giving opinions about the media and its impact on society.
Enable students to discuss the reliability of sources and the concept of "fake news" or bias.

DOK 1: Recall Label a diagram of a newsroom or website with the correct Spanish terms (e.g., el titular, la redacción, el sitio web).
DOK 2: Skill/Concept Categorize different headlines based on their section (e.g., deportes, sociedad, política) and summarize the main idea of a short news clip.
DOK 3: Strategic Thinking Compare two news reports on the same event from different countries; explain how their opinions about the media change based on the source's bias.
DOK 4: Extended Thinking Design a digital media outlet for a specific audience in the Caribbean, justifying the layout and content based on regional research.
