Vocabulary (Contextos): They will know school-related terminology (las materias, la facultad, la residencia estudiantil), adjectives for physical and personality descriptions, and common pastimes.
Grammar (Estructura):
Ser vs. Estar: When to describe permanent traits vs. temporary states/locations.
Present Tense: Regular and common irregular/stem-changing verbs (querer, servir, ir).
The Past Tense Duel: The fundamental difference between Preterite (interruption/completed action) and Imperfect (description/habit).
Reflexive Verbs: Talking about daily routines (despertarse, cepillarse).
Students will re-engage their communicative muscles through nostalgic and personal storytelling.
Interpretive: They will read a student's blog post or a letter from a "pen pal" about their summer and answer comprehension questions using multiple tenses.
Interpersonal: They will interview classmates to find commonalities in their summer experiences and current school schedules.
Presentational: They will produce a "Life Timeline," describing who they were (Imperfect), what they did once (Preterite), and who they are now (Present).
Phonetic: They will review Vowel Sounds and Syllabication, ensuring their pronunciation hasn't "rusted" over the break.
