-compare and contrast the uses and meanings of the preterite and imperfect tenses.

1.2 Understand language

Now that you have learned the forms of the preterite and the imperfect, you will learn more about how they are used. The preterite and the imperfect are not interchangeable. In Spanish, the choice between these two tenses depends on the context and on the point of view of the speaker.

-Flexible grouping: Creating groups so that students can work at their own level and receive the support they need.

-Mini-lessons: Teaching small groups of students who need to master a skill.

-Games: Using games to engage all learners.

-Different sets of activities: Providing different sets of activities, such as reading comprehension activities.

-Emphasize productive language: Focusing on productive language skills, such as speaking and writing, from the beginning.
