Students will know that the nervous system, brain, senses, sleep, and psychoactive substances influence behavior, thinking, emotions, and daily functioning.
Students will identify parts of the nervous system and brain, explain how neurons and neurotransmitters work, describe sensory processes, analyze sleep cycles, and examine the effects of psychoactive drugs and addiction.
Diagrams, vocabulary checks, scenario analysis, class discussion, short written responses, and a unit quiz or project.
