Students will know that psychology is the scientific study of behavior and mental processes. Students will understand that psychologists use different perspectives to explain behavior and that research in psychology must be ethical, organized, and evidence-based.
Students will define psychology, compare psychological perspectives, identify research methods, recognize bias and variables, and examine basic ethical guidelines in psychological research.
Vocabulary checks, class discussion, short written responses, research method practice, and a unit quiz or written reflection.
