Students will be able to identify historical precedents for civic advocacy and explain how they can be used to solve modern community problems.
How did past Meriden leaders solve problems? What can we learn from their "campaigns"?

Analyzing specific Meriden movements (e.g., labor strikes or park creation). Purpose: To see history as a "blueprint" for action. DOK Level: 3.
Case Study Complexity. Provide simplified 1-page summaries for some; full municipal meeting minutes for advanced students.
A "Mock Campaign Poster" for a historical figure.
