Students will be able to explain how various immigrant and migrant groups contributed to the cultural and architectural development of specific Meriden neighborhoods.

Mapping the immigration waves (Irish, Polish, Italian, Puerto Rican). DOK Level: 3.
Allow students to choose between reading a census record, listening to an oral history from the Meriden Puerto Rican Oral History Project, or analyzing neighborhood architectural photos. Use bilingual "Key Term" sheets for ELL students.
