Lesson Objective

Students will be able to develop a type of map to understand the location of world regions and important physical features.

Students will have to distinguish among the different types of maps (i.e., political, physical, and thematic) and be able to present one of these types in their final project.

How can different types of maps be beneficial in understanding the world today?

Thematic, Physical, Political, Compass Rose, Map legend, Map Scale.

Students are able to use any materials provided by the teacher and use any resources (ranging from previous notes, to researching sites on their Chromebooks) in order to get the proper information needed to complete the project.

Student will have access to materials, guidelines and previous assignments to help them create their own map.
